2010 A Love Party Odyssey

It has been five months since I wrote my last article.  I have been very busy trying to run two businesses with Gary G.  Since our trip to Vegas in December, we have visited San Francisco one time and we have been to New Orleans a dozen times.  This article is a short one.  We recently celebrated The 5th Annual Love Party, 2010 A Love Party Odyssey.  We raised over $1,400.oo for HATCH (Houston Area Teen Coalition of Homosexuals)http://www.hatchyouth.org/.  The money along with the $1200 raised from The 4th Annual Brunch in November will be used toward HATCH’s annual Alternative Prom which will be held on June 11, 2010.

The Theme was space/alien.  Guests were encouraged to dress up and each gift bag had an alien icecream, an alien or astronaut rubber ducky and various space/alien trinkets.

I want to thank Meteor and the wonderful staff especially Alec for letting me throw this wonderful event there.  I also want to thank China Doll, Tribal Lillies and Tropical Rhythms (along with Noel and Ernest) for giving the 80 plus guests a wonderful show.  Special thank you also goes to my friends who donated their time and money toward this event (Dee B., Adi and David, Khoi and Carl, Dick, Jacqueline and Chris) and the volunteers from Montrose Counseling Center.  A big thank you to Gary Giddings for putting up with my diva attitude and for providing all goodies in the gift bags that all guests received.

The Love Party is growing each year in size and donation. Thank you everyone who came and made this event a success.  The Love Party is also celebrated in conjunction with China Doll’s birthday.  China turned __ years old this year and still looking pretty as ever.

Sad Note – I was informed two weeks before this event that Christina Lee has officially retired from doing her famous and joyful routines.  I am happy that guests who came to the 2008 Love Party had a chance to see her in action.

Enjoy the pictures.
